Wind-sector cables operate in environments with high moisture exposure, thermal cycling and mechanical stress. Aluminium-Copolymer for Hermetic Barrier
Cables in wind farms — buried or submarine — require a hermetic barrier against water ingress. Aluminium-copolymer provides radial sealing, short-circuit protection and mechanical strength. The heat-activated copolymer bonds to polyethylene and polyolefin jackets.
Water-Blocking Tapes
Longitudinal water blocking
Swellable tapes block the longitudinal advance of water in buried wind-farm cables. The semiconductive version adds partial-discharge control in MV/HV cables.
Aluminium for Metallic Shields
1070A aluminium for short-circuit management
1070A aluminium is used as a metallic shield in medium- and high-voltage wind-farm cables: short-circuit current management, effective earthing and mechanical protection.
Mica Tapes for Fire Protection
Circuit integrity in wind-energy installations
Safety cables in wind farms — nacelle, tower — may require fire protection. Mica tapes make it possible to build cables with circuit integrity. Halogen-free.
