Precision cutting with state-of-the-art machinery

Custom slitting adjusts tape width to exact cable manufacturing line specifications, eliminating waste and ensuring compatibility with taping machine feed systems. We process both materials from our stock and customer-supplied rolls, maintaining full traceability from the original batch.

New state-of-the-art slitting machine We have incorporated a state-of-the-art slitting machine with digital tension control and automatic blade positioning, achieving tolerances of ±0.50 mm on all types of materials.

The cutting process

Jumbo roll loading

The master coil (jumbo) is mounted on the unwinding shaft. The blades are set according to the cutting program requested by the customer.

Cutting and separation

The material passes through circular cutting blades, which divide the coil into tapes of the exact specified width, with controlled tolerance.

Rewinding into pads

The cut tapes are rewound in pad format on plastic or cardboard cores, ready for use in cable manufacturing lines.

Pad / Pancake

When to choose this format?

Pancake format maximizes footage per roll. Used in longitudinal taping where tape is applied parallel to cable axis. The taping machine unwinds from the pad center, so inner diameter (ID) must match machine mandrel. Incorrect ID prevents mounting; excessive OD may not fit the roll holder.

Traverse Wound Spool (TWS)

Cross-wound

When to choose this format?

Cross-wound unwinding delivers tape without residual twist. Used in helical taping where tape is applied in a spiral around the conductor or cable core. Feed is from the spool side. If a pad were used in helical taping, the tape would accumulate one twist turn per roll turn, causing wrinkles and taping defects.

Step to Step Spool (STS)

Step-to-step wound

When to choose this format?

Parallel layer winding maintains uniform tension throughout unwinding. Indicated when tension variation affects the process, such as with very thin tapes or applications where taping pressure is critical for cable performance.

Format conversion

We convert pad-format rolls to spool format (TWS or STS) when the taping line requires a different format than originally supplied. Available for stock materials or customer-supplied material.
